Hoian is well-known across Asia as one of the best value destinations – it has plenty of hotels of all categories possible and due to this stiff competition, the prices are really low. Even if coming from countries like Thailand or Cambodia, many travelers agree that Hoian is the capital of best value for money. And due to this competition, the hotels are competing not only on price, but also on services … each of them tries to offer extra-services. And during my stay in Hoian in this February, I found Kiman Hotel & Spa.

The legends of Hong Kong: Chungking & Mirador Mansions

22 February 2013 - Hong Kong & Macao, Asia 5 comments

Hone Kong: Chungking mansions.

In Kowloon peninsula from Hong Kong there’s an area called Tsim Sha Tsui. The area is also known as “Golden Mile” because here can be found the most expensive land in the world. Three years ago, the owners took the decision of demolishing Hyatt Hotel which had about 10 – 12 stories and preparing the setting for a much larger building which was still under construction in 2009 when I was last time in Hong Kong…The terrain below what used to be Hyatt Hotel,  costs probably more than a 5 star hotel. Well, on this “golden” ground, can be found two buildings for backpackers and immigrants – some massive grey blocks of about 15 – 16 stories that are housing a few hundreds of guesthouses. Millions of backpackers from all around the world have lived here during the last 50 years, thus transforming Chungking and Mirador Mansions into legendary places such as Thamel in Kathmandu, Khao San Road from Bangkok or Goa…The cheapest accommodation in Hong Kong located in the most expensive residential area in the world! read more…

Hotel Hyatt Sanur – Bali: Welcome to Paradise!

14 December 2012 - Bali, Asia, Indonesia No comments

Hotel Hyatt Sanur: Bouganvilia

Today, I will present another super hotel, also from Bali – Hotel Hyatt Sanur. Unfortunately it doesn’t cost 29 euros , but it is simply superb, so I didn’t resist the temptation of presenting it here. I stayed there twice – in 2004 and in 2009 and it seemed to me the closest place to how I imagine paradise to be …Not necessarily the hotel in such, but especially the gardens – they are an absolutely wonderful combination of orchids, frangipani, hibiscus and bougainvillea. Actually, the different building parts of the hotel are named after these gorgeous flowers.

The Marbella Villa – “the most romantic accommodation in Goa”

Goa: The Marbella Villa

No, these are not my words, it is a quote from the Mumbai’s “What’s On” magazine which considered the Marbella Villa in Candolim, Goa  as the most romantic place where you can rest your head on a pillow in Goa… I read the article only when I arrived in Goa, but I knew before I want to spend a couple of days here !  I already got a glimpse of Marbella Villa and had booked it a few weeks before arriving. We were at the end of an Indian tour and because we had 3 weeks of backpacking across Southern India, I thought of splurging in Goa. And I chose the Marbella Villa.
