This was a special day… not because I left the island of St. Lucia, but because I flew for the first time by a helicopter ! And, boy, I really love to fly !

Let’s take a short break from my stories and present you the hotel I stayed. Actually, it is not a hotel, it is an all-inclusive resort called “The Smugglers’ Cove”. Apparently, in this hidden gulf, the smugglers did a very lucrative business with the surrounding islands, so the name remained. Now the only smugglers seem to be the US tourists who smuggle margaritas all over the property. For some reason, they cannot make mojito, which I would also smuggle…
This morning did not start on the right foot. At first, the morning sky was not as clear as it used to be the days before. Then we found out we could not go around the island with the catamaran, as planned. And then the sun became so bright, that if I stayed in the water, I might have burned all the parts of my body… Therefore I needed some sudden inspiration…
After a whole day of sensational sightseeing on St. Lucia, with views where the land and the water of the Caribbean got together, what could we possibly have next? Nothing came more natural than a visit on dry land, with the occasional glance to the water… And what could have been easier for that than renting a car, driver included?
Finally, our first day in the Caribbean, in St. Lucia ! I had fallen asleep rather quickly, so I obviously woke up before sunrise… Pulling the curtains aside, I feel astonished to see that the sky is clear. Wow!!! I was hoping Maria would go away – but not so soon… Why sleep anymore? I have to get ready to catch the first sunrays…
