WOW: Only 500 euro – Europe to Kenya, Cuba, Maldives and other destinations

Yesterday, I told you about a great offer of SwissAir from several European airports to Phuket: just 500 euro. Well, today, I had a deeper look into SwissAir’s tickets booking engine and I found other fantastic destinations and the price is as good – around 500 euro, if you fly from Amsterdam, Rome, Milan, Vienna, Budapest, Prague or Bucharest. It might be the case this offer is valid from other European cities, as well, so you might check as well on SwissAir’s site. So… what did I find ?

It is dark red and it shows a chicken bus, a former U.S. school bus used throughout Central America for passenger transport after having, of course, been repainted in the brightest colors and decorated with slogans as reassuring as possible for travellers … “Jesus loves you!”

Sabalan, Iran (4811m) – Mirror on the Top of the Mountain

I climbed Sabalan (volcanic mountain in north-western Iran) in September 2011; it was one of the most beautiful climbs I ever made (not that I started long time ago … I “only” begun mountaineering in 2006). The “reward” that awaits the tired climber at the top of Sabalan is worth all the effort … an incredible blue lake! It looks like it was put there by God, in a very fitting way. The Iranian group I was with told of hidden mountain energies and Zarathustra stories (he was supposed to be born or buried around Sabalan and also must have written there the Zoroastrian holy book). … read more
