Ever consider Ocean City, Maryland for your escape from reality? This city and state has so much to offer to visitors and residents alike, so let’s dive in.

The workdays are long. Hustling between work, errands, shuttling the kids from practice to friends’ homes.

The walls can feel as if they are closing in if we don’t find time for ourselves to get out of our “norm” and escape. If we don’t, everyone suffers. Mentally we are drained, which affects us physically, and then we find ourselves not productive at work or home.

It is time to breathe.

You may not have the luxury of living near the ocean and are longing for the salt air. You don’t have to travel to Florida or California to enjoy the beauty of the ocean.

It is right here in Ocean City, Maryland. A sampling of what is waiting for you is a nationally recognized boardwalk, casino, golf courses, and shopping.

Love to fish yet are you not interested, or able, to pack your fishing gear? Plenty of fishing charters available.

Let the kid inside of you come out and spend an afternoon in one of Ocean City’s arcades. Your days, and nights, will be filled with whatever your heart desires. Worry not about your stomach as there are plenty of dining options that cover all taste buds.

Once you have made the decision that yes, Ocean City is where I want to get away from it all for a while, the next order of business is where will we stay.

Per TripAdvisor, there are cheap hotels in Ocean City, Maryland that have won the Certificate of Excellence for 2016.

If you don’t live near the ocean or gulf, why not spoil yourself and reserve an oceanfront room.

Some features that you will want to look for in the hotel include; a 100% smoke-free environment, brand-name mattresses (we need a good night’s sleep), heated pools in case you are visiting out of season, and flat screen televisions in each room.

What else does Maryland have to offer its visitors and residents? Do you have an appetite for sports?

The NFL is king in the United States and Maryland hosts 2 NFL franchises, the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Redskins. If you have a penchant for the horses, well you can satisfy that craving at Pimlico or Laurel Park with a winning ticket.

Major League Baseball is America’s favorite pastime in many traditionalist eyes, and Maryland is the home of one of the hottest big league teams currently, the Baltimore Orioles.

A weekend away or a weeklong vacation is your time to escape the daily rigors of life responsibilities and take in something new. By traveling to a different part of the country you can open all your senses and experience life in a new meaning.

Ask yourself this. What vacation, when taken in a new part of the country you have not visited before, did you not feel afterwards as if your “batteries” were recharged?
