Interview with Pam on her way to Mongolia: “The Mongol Rally will change your life, in many ways”

24 July 2012 interview No comments

Pamela MacNaughtan in her car on the way to Mongolia

A couple of weeks ago, I heard from Earl that some girls want to buy a Dacia Logan from Romania and drive it to Mongolia. What a hell ! Why Dacia ? And why to Mongolia ? So, slowly, slowly, a discovered the Mongol Rally and the great adventure. Meanwhile, I also discovered two Romanian teams – Daciotii who are driving an old Dacia 1310 and an all-girls team – Fire Fairies on the way to Mongolia as well… but I would like to ask some questions to Pam  and Charlie from SM Stowaway – a Canadian / US all-female team ready to drive on the Silk Road towards the country of Genghis Han.

Dani Blanchette: Taking photos at Altavoz Festival, Medellin

The today’s special guest star is a quite special one… Ladies and gentlemen, please, welcome Dani Blanchette, the nomadic girl who decided that it is better to be a gringo in South America than working in the US City of Sin, so she sold everything she had (or at least this is what she claims, although in her pictures I notice she is not naked) and headed to the crazy part of the New World… So, let’s have a look what is in her mind.

Anil Polat of Foxnomad, “a Nerdy Guy who Loves to Travel”

26 June 2012 interview 5 comments

Anil Polat smoking nargile

Few months ago, I asked my old friend, Dr. Google about the most fascinating country I ever stepped into – North Korea… and after few pages, it landed me on the page of a travel blog with a strange name Foxnomad. The guy wrote a small guide to visit North Korea and I felt the need to add my information… so, we started to have an online conversation… in meanwhile, I was browsing his blog. Which I found excellent with so many tips and information. Afterwards, I discovered the guy is not Australian, Canadian, American or British as most of the international bloggers, but Turk ! Wow – this was really cool… not only that Turks are some of the nicest peoples on earth (from my own experience), but because the guy broke the monopoly of native English writers, becoming one of the most read international travel blogger. So, this is why I asked for an interview…

Farming just outside of Uppsala, Sweden.jpg

A blonde gypsy… wow, what a contrast between 2 words… the gypsies are known as being quite dark-haired and darker skin… The opposites attract, so I ended up reading her site and discovering a traveler who went as Star trek says “to boldly go where no one has gone before”… So, I could not miss to ask her a few questions.
