3 adventures you need to go on before the end of 2017

20 October 2016 miscellaneous 3 comments

We are quickly approaching the end of 2016, and so now is the perfect time to start planning your summer getaway for next year. If you’re thinking about trying something new in 2017, then we’ve put together a list of three adventures that you must try.

Experience the Northern Lights, Iceland

You might have heard about the Northern Lights in your science lessons, but nothing will ever be better than heading out to Iceland and experiencing its beauty first hand. No textbook can do this natural phenomenon justice. You will be able to go on a Northern Lights expedition by yourself, with a group of friends or with a tour guide who will bring the experience to life.

The Northern Lights can happen in many different locations across Iceland and Scandanavia, and the Aurora Service has put together a guide on some of the best places to see it. Large settlements are often few and far between, and turquoise lagoons, rugged cliff tops and volcanic geysers make up the majority of the country’s landscape, so once you’re done taking in the beautiful Northern Lights, why not explore the multitude of other natural wonders Iceland has to offer? Of course, you could even venture into the bustling, cosmopolitan capital city of Reykjavik if you’d prefer a faster-pace of life.

A Bahamas cruise

What could be better than setting on a secluded beach with white sand beneath your feet,  clear, blue waters lapping up against the shore and the warm burst of the sun gently hitting your skin? This is exactly what you’ll be able to experience if you book a Bahamas cruise through an agent like Imagine Cruising.

The Bahamas is made up of hundreds of small islands, and you’ll be able to experience some of the very best. Boasting year-round sunshine, this part of the world is extremely popular with tourists. The pristine seas are perfect for snorkelling and other watersports, or you can tuck into the fresh, hearty cuisine that is always on offer here. Many of the larger beaches also have bars and entertainment facilities on offer, so you’ll love partying the night away on a little slice of paradise. Once you’re finished, just head back to your cruise ship, sit back, relax and keep an eye on proceedings from the deck or your room.

Visit the Great Wall of China

This is possibly one of the most iconic locations in the world, and it’s highly recommended that you pay a visit to this landmark before the end of next year so that you can fully appreciate the size and the diversity of it. While some of the more developed parts of the wall are very popular with tourists, in some of the more remote areas, you could be the only person there enjoying it.

A guided tour is a great way of learning about the fascinating history of the wall, or you could make the short commute from the capital city of Beijing and enjoy a few hours there during the day. Either way, this landmark is usually a common feature on bucket lists all over the world, so why not get out there and experience it for yourself next year?

    Saudi Arabia: Beyond the Veil

The land of the Bedouins, of vast swathes of sand and deserts, but hidden behind that dusty façade is a country waiting to be discovered. Hitherto known mostly for religious tourism, the country is slowly opening for global tourism. As you make your way through the country, you would be surprised that those stories that […]

New Zealand Camping Sites You Can Visit on Your Trip

There is no question that New Zealand is one of the most beautiful places in the world, genuinely one of the last places where the world’s natural beauty remains pristine and untouched. Imagine constantly waking up to views of purple mountains and endless lush, green fields. Which is was not surprising to learn that when […]

Mumbai Escape at Ramada Powai Hotel

Mumbai is one of the most interesting cities of the billion+ nation of India. It does not have the imperial history of Delhi, it does not have the princely elegance of Jaipur or Udaipur, it does not have the holly spirit of Varanasi and you cannot find any monument which can rival Taj Mahal of […]

The most spectacular boom was probably the advent of couch surfing, a phenomenon similar in scope maybe only to Facebook, but there are still millions of people who want a […]
