Small guide for Las Vegas
For many, Las Vegas means only gambling, gambling, gambling. It means that Sin City where you can go and strike big, maybe the moment of your lifetime. However, there is so much to do in Las Vegas beyond gambling. There are shows, there is fine dining (there are more and more fine food restaurants across Vegas, making it more and more of a gourmet destination), there is dance, there are nice happy people and there are all those lights which make your nights magic. This article wants to give you some more practical information on how to visit Las Vegas.
When to go to Las Vegas
Well, summer is hot, hot like hell. If you like temperatures above 40 degrees, well this is the place. However, as summer is a key holiday time across US, you will find plenty of tourists. Try the shoulder seasons – spring and winter. Less of a crowd, more pleasant weather. Winter is also fine when North is freezing, Vegas displays a spring-like temperature.
How to get to Las Vegas
By plane
Las Vegas Airport is the 24th busiest airport of the world, so, it is pretty hard not to find a flight to Vegas. However, if you come from Asia or Europe, there are not so many intercontinental options, so, you might need to land in Los Angeles, a much bigger airport in terms of intercontinental choices. You can have a short airlifted hop from LAX or just join the crowd of Californians which take to Las Vegas…
By road
Interstate 15 connects the Pacific Rim with Las Vegas… You will find driving on Friday night (Vegas-bound) and Sunday afternoon (coming back) quite frustrating. Take care, it is also a dangerous road – as it is straight and dull, people tend to overspeed. Actually, it is the most deadly stretch of the highway across United States ! So, if you drive, take care !
By bus
Tired of driving ? Take a bus ? Greyhound connects Las Vegas with Salt Lake City (yeah, right), Los Angeles and Phoenix. Megabus.com, the famous low cost bus carrier has tickets starting as low as USD 1 for rides from Los Angeles and Riverside
Shows
There are so many shows, you will need weeks to enjoy all of them. However, don’t miss the Cirque du Soleil extravaganza. There are at least 7 in town, but many of them are solidly booked, so you would better book your show first, and then the hotel :). If you are looking for deals, you can find a lot of discounts and offers online by using Best of Vegas discount codes.
Gambling
Well, Las Vegas was born out of gambling and it lives for gambling. You can actually gamble everywhere including in the airport and gas stations. However, the state laws provide that all gamblers should be 21 years old or older, so you should have a picture ID with you at all times. You have plenty of choices for roulette, black jacks, poker and so on and so forth. However, why don’t you try out something less mainstream like the Bagatelle game
Well, even if you do not go to Las Vegas
Even when you cannot go to Vegas, Vegas can come to you, obviously online. You will feel Vegas excitement playing William Hill Online Casino games. You can find online hundreds of games … with all the instructions how to play. So, you can play wherever in the world you are, at what time you think of and obviously, for any budget… Just GOOD LUCK.
